Bride of a Dream Demon by xXWinterBreezeXx
A book I've been reading lately is Bride of a Dream Demon by xXWinterBreezeXx (I'm just going to call her Winter) which is a Gravity Falls fan fiction which is also a reader insert. As a fan of Gravity Falls I fell in love with it already.
The story is an AU (or alternate universe). This means the author changed a few things from its cannon source (in this case Gravity Falls) to fit their story. The author did change up a few things. The age of Mable and Dipper are now fifteen (they still had their adventures such as the gnomes when they were twelve). Weirdmagedon didn't happen. . . YET! The rift was never released and the journals were never destroyed. The shack's magical barrier is also down for the time being. Stan and Ford are also to kind of get over their past mistakes a bit, and they are slowly making up. Ford also allowed Stan to keep the Mystery Shack running since it was a great source of income. People did find out about Ford, but only know him as Ford and not Stanford. Finally (let me take a deep breath), Dipper is Ford's apprentice, but they only train in the summer since the Pines want their kids to get a decent education. Well now I'm done with that, let us get to the plot.
As I stated in the first paragraph this is a reader insert, meaning you are the main character. The story starts out like this. Your mother got into a car crash while pregnant with you. Your father Phil and your mother were rushed to the hospital, and the injuries were extremely severe. So severe, that your mother was going to die along with you. Phil was able to survive (gladly), but when the doctors told him the news that his wife was going to die along side you, he was distraught. There was a sliver of hope though. The doctors said that they could try to deliver you, but the chances of survival is low. Phil is desperate so he agrees. Oh, this is when Mr Dollar Bill starts coming in! Phil decides to make a deal with Bill Cipher to help your chances of survival, but Bill has something up his sleeve. This so called "destiny," he later tells you.
After the deal you receive a blond streak in you (h/c) hair, and much more. Too bad for Phil, for now he has to face more hardships of being a single parent. The story has a lot of detail that I would get into, but then this page would be to long, and you would probably get bored (if you weren't enough from my summary of a prologue). It is a great story that I highly recommend reading if your a Gravity Falls fan. Yes, it is another romance story with Bill Cipher, but it has this uniqueness that separates it from most stories. The time it takes for her to update may be a while, but it is certainly worth the wait.
